The following searches, in public records, are carried out by MC Research:-

     Legal and Family history research.

  • full searches including the production of photocopies or certified copies of records obtained.

  • searches made of individual records. In addition, for people of Irish ancestry, it is possible to do some research abroad in mainly records for England, Scotland, Wales, the USA, Canada and Australia.

  • reports, charts and family histories prepared when information proven in records.

  • Research undertaken for obtaining and making application for Irish Citizenship through descent.

    This requires certification proving descent from an ancestor, in general, no further back than a grandparent born on the island of Ireland. It can be of use not only for family history purposes but for persons desiring to do business or study in the EU.

     Historical research.

  • Specialising on civil history especially on townlands, local government and public sector areas and on County Louth.

  • This includes research for house and place histories and place name searches.

    Both can be of value to background reporting on an area for development purposes, tourist routes etc.. The County Louth section of this website includes details on the type of information available that can be expanded on.
